Downtownian.com is proud to of our Good Neighbor Program, an effort designed to help all of our residents live in harmony with each other, without the typical bad-neighbor problems.  The big question is, how do we get so many different types of people so close together to live in harmony?   Our buildings have a broad mix of different types of residents, from singles to families, from students to professionals.  Several years of brain-breaking thought have culminated in Downtownian.com's Good Neighbor Program.

How it works

Okay, so here's how it works.  Sometimes, the person next, above, in back of, or below you, unknowingly does something that might cause you to be less than perfectly happy and content in your own place, or does something that can risk the health and safety of others.  For example, your neighbor below is playing music too loud at midnight, and it keeps you up.  The problem is reported by you or another neighbor by contacting your manager.  We'll keep your complaint anonymous. That's when the Good Neighbor Program kicks in.

The offender will get a warning from Downtownian.com, describing the offense and how to resolve it.  Let's face it, most of these problems are mistakes, and once the offender is conscious that it's happening,  they cut it out.  The warning is just a warning - the first time.

If the problem recurrs, the offender will be notified again, but this time they'll also be fined at least $25, and that fine doubles for each consecutive offense, up to $400 per incident.  Remember that guy below who was playing his music too loud at midnight?  We're betting that even if they have a hard head about it, by the time that guy has received that third or forth notice, he'll take a vow of silence, trust us.  And if the fines don't work, the offender will be subject to eviction or other action.

We know that the majority of our residents are thoughtful, courteous people just like you, and the Good Neighbor Program will just serve as those once in a blue moon reminders when they get a bit absent minded.  In any case, you're protected from the scourage of most apartment buildings - the bothersome neighbor can finally be dealt with effectively, thanks to your good buddies here at Downtownian.com!

What is covered

The Good Neighbor Program covers quality of life issues that could affect those arround, such as noise problems, smells, uncleanliness that can attract pests, smoking and butts, improperly disposed of trash, items in the hallways, pet noise and pet poo, and use of restricted areas such as roofs and fire escapes, as well as other issues that may cause distress to neighbors.
