Multiple Payers

  1. We are unable to assist you with determining which roommate, co-signer or other payer did not make his or her portion of the payment. This is your responsibility. For this reason, we very strongly recommend that one person be the designated payer, and make the entire payment each month.  The other payers should pay that person instead of sending the payment directly to us.  A designated payer is required for leases with three (3) or more people, or a multiple payment fee of $40/mo will be assessed.
  2. Your payment history on Downtownian.com will display the name of the payee for all payments made by mail, but not for payments made online.  To find out who made a specific online payment that is reflected in your payment history, please call Payment Service Network at the number above.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
  3. All Tenants listed on the Apartment Lease are equally responsible for the FULL balance each and every month.  If there is a past due balance, we will proceed to collect against all Tenants, regardless of who paid and who did not.  If one roommate does not make his or her payment, the other roommates still risk collections, possible eviction and damage to credit history.  In that instance, we strongly encourage the other Tenants to make up the difference and deal with the issue internally.
  4. All Tenants listed on an Apartment Lease remain legally responsible for the apartment and the rent, until they have been properly removed from the lease.  This applies even if the tenant no longer lives there.  For more information on how to change, remove or add roommates, see Changing Roommates.
